Vital Imaging CEO announces a research collaboration together with UCSD and the Navy Health Research Center. They have been conducting a study since 2011 to evaluate the effects of load bearing on the spine. The purpose of the study has been to gather preliminary data on how the assault pack can affect the spine of young Navy SEALs so alternate methods for the SEALs could be designed.
The results of this study have now been submitted for publication.
We are excited to announce that the success of the preliminary study has led to a second grant from the Department of Defense (DoD). The grant is designated to further evaluate the “Lumbar Spine Musculoskeletal Physiology and Biomechanics during Simulated Military Operations.” This is a 3 year grant that extends the previous work done with Vital Imaging and is currently set to start in September, 2013. Vital Imaging is proud to serve our men and women in uniform and is looking forward to participating in research that will improve their short and long term health issues.
