Steve Cooley, the former District Attorney for Los Angeles County, has accepted a position with Global Holdings as Chief Legal Counsel. “I have been fortunate to call Sam Solakyan my friend for several years now and have watched his accomplishments in both the business and philanthropic arenas with great pride. I am honored to work with him,” Cooley commented.
“Cooley’s amazing dedication to his work and service to his community are exactly the qualities I seek to align myself with in my business and personal life,” says Global Holdings’ CEO, Sam Solakyan. “I have admired him since I was a young man and his career has had a big influence on my own, including my choice to become a reserve duty peace officer.”
Cooley has spent nearly 50 years working for the County, beginning in 1973 as a law clerk. He is the first LA District Attorney in the last 70 years to serve three consecutive terms. Says Solakyan, “When he announced his retirement, I was persistent in convincing him to not fully retire just yet. I know that I can learn a lot from him so when he agreed to come aboard, I was extremely happy.”
