Sam Solakyan, Global Holdings CEO, has been asked to join the DEA Educational Foundation’s prestigious Board of Directors. He traveled to Washington, D.C. last November to meet with department heads from the DEA, CIA, FBI, and the White House, where he was given a tour of their respective headquarters.
“After a tour like that, I was both excited and honored by the proposal to join the Board. ‘When and where can I jump in?’ was my first thought,” said Sam.
This non-profit organization is dedicated solely to supporting the DEA Museum with financial backing through fundraisers, annual donations, and private sponsors. The organization has launched many impressive exhibits that target drug use in America. These exhibits use interactive kiosks, illustrated displays, and portrayals of important cases to show the negative effects of illegal drugs and the misuse of prescription drugs.
The DEA Educational Foundation’s mission is to education young adults about the dangers of using drugs and to steer kids into more productive routes. With educational outreach programs like the DEA Youth Dance Program, the organization hopes to provide a constructive alternative to drugs and gang activity as well as promote self-esteem and teamwork in young adults. The DEA Educational Foundation has served to bring awareness and tools of prevention to millions of students, teachers and parents across the United States.
“Working with an agency of this caliber that serves our youth culture directly is an honor and a privilege I accepted with great pride,” Sam said.
